DEC 2008: Designing an Identity & Access Management Portal

Your favorite IDA conference is back March 2nd - 5th in the windy city of Chicago, IL.  The line up this year looks very compelling with an excellent focus this year in the ILM track on Window Workflow Foundation, SharePoint integration, and scaling MIIS solutions.  I'm happy to see that I was able to goad/guilt/encourage some new blood into the bullpen:

  • Brian Picard will be presenting Testing: Ease Your Production Elevation Woes
  • Richard Wakeman will be presenting Partitioning MIIS for Performance and Scalability
  • Joe "That Guy" Stepongzi will be presenting Extreme MIIS Group Performance

You'll find some of your old favorites as well:

  • Craig Martin will be presenting on one of his favorite topics - ILM Extensibility
  • James Booth will be presenting on the bane of MIIS admins everywhere - Dealing with the Dreaded BAIL
  • David Lundell will be reprising his dynasty of SQL excellence with Dave Nesbitt on Mining for Roles with ILM + SQL 2005 Analysis Services
  • Jeremy Palenchar will be focusing on Enterprise class workflows with WF and ILM "2" in ILMv2 Workflows for the Enterprise

I think I'm going to have to start a "where's Almero" drive next!

I'm very excited to be returning again as a speaker as well!  Jerry Camel and I will be presenting on

Designing an Identity & Access Management Portal

ILM "2" is set to introduce the IdentityManagement WSS portal for self-service management of identity and access control. Learn what you can do in your existing deployments to integrate your existing MIIS 2003/ILM 2007 solution with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or MOSS 2007. Topics will include centralized SRS report integration with SharePoint, adding custom webparts or migrating existing ASP.NET applications into the portal, and leveraging the built-in workflow capability in SharePoint. Code samples and templates to be provided.

I'm also very excited to see some of the ADFS sessions in the Federated Identity Track - man I never get to see any of the Active Directory Track!
